RUFTA is a South West UK producer and DJ working across UK garage, jungle, drum & bass, house, 140 and the wider spectrum of underground electronic music that connects those sounds.

Born of Sound is the creative identity behind the project, a phrase that reflects where the music comes from rather than defining who the artist is.

RUFTA’s foundation is shaped by two early influences: a father who spent his life behind the decks as a veteran DJ, and a mother deeply connected to the sound and energy of early 90s music culture. Between them, music was never separate from life, it was simply part of the environment everything grew out of.

That background informs a sound-driven approach focused on rhythm, atmosphere and emotion across genres, not restricted by scenes or labels, but guided by feeling and intention.

The core philosophy behind the project is peace through music, or music for peace. In a space often driven by intensity, the focus is on creating moments of release, reflection and connection within sound.

I interpret music as a language of emotion rather than a technical frequency, something felt before it is understood, and shared before it is explained.

Recent work includes Postman, a track exploring anticipation and the emotional space of waiting.

RUFTA continues to evolve through independent releases, DJ sets and storytelling rooted in UK underground culture.
